– Clovis, NM – July 7, 2009 – Country artist Brandon Leinen has signed with Blues Farm Records in Clovis, New Mexico. His unique brand of songwriting brings together classic storytelling with modern guitar riffs and vocals that are sure to please new country fans as well as old.
Brandon's inspiration comes from Texas country artists like Robert Earl Keen, Pat Green, Jerry Jeff Walker and especially college radio stars like Cross Canadian Ragweed. While many of Brandon's songs deal with college life, he currently attends ENMU in Portales, NM, his influence also stems from a grounding in church and family. His major is Religion, and his first real performance was with his church youth group, where he played for 3 years. He also sang in the church choir for 4 years.
A country boy, originality from Texas, Brandon is looking to bring his songs to the folks of Eastern New Mexico and West Texas. Currently, he performs solo acoustic shows, but he's looking to build a band up to back him onstage.
The official website is http://brandonleinen.webs.com. You'll soon be able to sample songs, and they expect to have them available for individual download via Amazon.com this fall. You can also find him on the labels official website, http://bluesfarm.webs.com.
For more than two years now, Blues Farm Records has been helping southwestern artists in country, blues and rock music to develop their music, and in doing so, put Clovis, New Mexico back on the music map. Recent BFR artists include Mark Kelley and Tim O'Rourke, as well as their flagship artist Sansietch. Sansietch is currently in the studio laying tracks with Brandon for the new CD. This promises to be a guitar-driven country record that fans will love to play and sing along with.

– Clovis, NM – May 31, 2009 – Another raw album release, Tim O'Rourke's debut CD with Blues Farm Records is available June 01, 2009. Backyard Dreams showcases Tim's singing and stories. Built on decades of performance and living, it is immediately obvious that no young whipper-snapper could write these songs, let alone sing them with the depth and sincerity that Tim O'Rourke does.
The CD has 13 songs, and from the moment you hear the jambalaya mix of Electric Music, you'll know this album can groove you. A strange thing perhaps, for a folksy troubadour, but Tim is steeped in rock, country and blues as much as anything else. His influences are broad and unfold themselves to the listener song by song.
The official website, http://timorourke.webs.com rightly has the feel of the southwest. Tim lives with his wife Laurie in the hills north of Albuquerque. The website... all loaded with tidbits for fans, and devoted to music enthusiasts has samples all of the new songs, and they are available for individual download via Amazon.com and at the website.
The album was recorded over the course of two days at Blues Farm Studios west of Clovis, New Mexico. Tim handled most of the work himself, except for a few leads and some drum work by Sansietch. The result is a true feel for what Tim sounds like live. A seasoned performer, Tim's CD comes with few overdubs, and it is evident that few are needed. When you hear Tim's struggling breath at times, you know he's given you all he can in that performance. It is refreshingly Indie.
The CD is issued by Blues Farm Records. http://bluesfarm.webs.com.
Backyard Dreams' is a journey through the realities of love and the American life. Backyard Dreams, the title track is a lazy wandering idea of an American dream. Tim dreamed of nature and family and a peaceful lifestyle. The heavy bass lines are Tim's work, creating a slow, steady flow, maybe down the Pecos River? Cause Guys You Ain't My Uncle Anymore is a rousing monologue about the politics of greed and war, not unlike a Dylan protest. It's simple, powerful and honest. There are many such songs. Where's The American Dream Anymore? Asks a relevant question: if Americans dream of peace, why does our government rush to war? Why are we not building the America we truly want?
Everybody Loses could be taken in the same light, asking the individual why they're not trying to make their lives better. Such A Beautiful Liar is a love song only someone who has been there can sing. It's ease paints a picture of pure emotion. The melody is uplifting and lets the listener see that it is okay, the lover is, of course, happy to be trapped. Wait 'Til The Morning carries a sadness and also a touch of hope. Tim's experience can be counted on when he tells us things will look better in the morning. I Still Feel You is the perfect example of Tim's emotional depth. The singing is weighty, it comes from deep within somewhere and that honesty is hearable.
Tim O'Rourke fans will be glad to get an album of clarity and simplicity. When Tim sings You Who Were There it's much more than a tribute. It's a painful reminder of the cost of our freedom. Maybe young men are sent to war because they don't yet know that cost?

– Clovis, NM – January 31, 2009 – Hard at work on your demo or EP? You may want to show it around the Southwest, specifically with Blues Farm Records in Clovis. The small indie label start up founded by Greg Royer has continued to bring aboard great new talent. Country artist Mark Kelley, rocker Gary Gorence and the legendary Sansietch have signed with the label. Now Tim O'Rourke, longtime rock, folk and blues musician from Albuquerque has signed with the label. Looks like Clovis is blazing another musical trail.
Tim O'Rourke has played across the United States with his own bands and as a solo act for several decades now. BFR says Tim is scheduled to do quite a few solo dates this summer, promoting the release of his upcoming CD. Dates should be posted soon on the website.
A country boy, originality from Missouri, Tim lives with his wife Laurie in their solar-adobe home in Placitas. Tim has written hundreds of songs over the years, many of which will be featured in an upcoming lyric poetry book. He pulls topics from the life around him. Love always remains a theme for him, as do various environmental issues.
The official website is http://timorourke.webs.com. You'll soon be able to sample songs, and they expect to have them available for individual download via Amazon.com this Spring. You can also find him on the labels official website, http://bluesfarm.webs.com.
Tim's solo music is a mix of acoustic and electric, rock and blues. Much of the music is folk style rock and blues, something Blues Farm Records is quick to point out. The label has been introducing folks to the unique brand of music made here in the southwest. Once again the indie label that could, warms us with the original sounds of New Mexico.

– Clovis, NM – November 20, 2008 – Mark Kelley's second album, 'Til I Get Home, will be available from Blues Farm Records, http://bluesfarm.webs.com, on December 6, 2008.
So here he is, Mark Kelley. Raw, fresh, and completely original. A true, country-first artist that fuses and layers any other influences, bending them like a Sycamore stick. You blues, you r & b, you rock, ya'll get in here and mind your country manners.
And so they do. 'Til I Get Home is a song by song journey of amazement and pleasure. It's filled with country grooves that make your head bob and even get your foot tappin'. It only takes a few songs, and one has to ask if they prefer the bland commercialized, same sound, song after song albums that slick producers manufacture for major label artists. 'Til I Get Home breathes with fresh textures and emotion at every turn. Stunning guitar tones, both acoustic and electric. Solo guitar work that is completely country, while being infused with all the other elements of American music. For a good example just see the first 20 seconds of the album, and the intro to the title track.
Sing along anthems like Don't Break My Heart Again (The Whiskey Song), Breakdown country jams like the Gitfiddle Song, stunning classic country songs such as Time, and of course, the rousing, stomping wonder that is County Road 18.
Every song is a turn in the bend, which makes the album listenable, from start to finish. The CD has 11 songs, and each one is written with a southwestern feel that can only come from time spent in the desert, or out on the plains. Sansietch, who plays so many roles on this album, makes his home outside of Clovis, New Mexico, where you can find him performing acoustic sets in cafes and at local businesses and eateries.
Mark Kelley's self-titled debut CD was the same really. It comes down to a matter of growth. 'Til I Get Home is a sophomore effort that is a true looking glass. Mark Kelley makes a statement that he knows how he wants his music to sound. The singing on this album is just that, singing. If you like to listen to singers, you'll enjoy the complete uniqueness of Mark Kelley's voice. And the listener gets lured in from the very first song.
The imagery in the lyric, “ Daddy's out front with a beer and a cigarette, me and my brother in the yard, having fights with some sycamore sticks.” It's country in that it's about “downhome” things, but comparisons with other contemporary songs illustrate the difference. Mark Kelley's songs have a true heartfelt emotion. One doesn't think Daddy used to drink a lot when they hear the lyric above sung. They think, I sure do miss my dad.
Fans can order the new CD from just about anywhere, including the Official Mark Kelley website, http://markkelley.webs.com. The website is loaded with pictures and fans can find out where Mark's playing next.

Gary Gorence's debut CD has 12 songs, and some of the sweetest New Mexican slide guitar ever. The album is infused with blues and southern rock moments, but it is strung together by something else, the undeniable open road and southwestern hot air. It is the raw, wandering force throughout the Album.

The CD has 14 songs, and from the moment the supercharged guitar picks up on Is It Enough, you are keenly aware that it's more than just plain old country music. The undeniable twang and growl of Mark Kelley's southern drawl is just what the bartender ordered. It is the raw, grounding force throughout the Album. Sansietch's lead guitar work is recognizably signature, and once you hear it, you’ll know it’s him every time.

Mark Kelley fans will want to hear the artist sing and play the new hit, What A Beautiful Night, but the question is what cuts from the CD will he play. The CD is a trove of limitless jewels, such as the wrenching It Don't Make The Man, and She's Everything, an ode to Mark's Fiancée, Amy. The grumbling bass lines that drive one through the New Mexico anthem, Home, and the stomping country beat of I Don't Give A Damn, are testament to the blending of rich, diverse styles.

– Clovis, NM – July 09, 2008 – A rock-n-rolling album release, Gary Gorence's debut CD, Desert Trippin', is available July 09, 2008. Blues Farm Records indie label has been a one man show for some time, but with the addition of solo rock artist Gary Gorence, the label is now referred to as “the little label that could.”
The CD has 12 songs, and from the moment the slide guitar picks up on It's Been So Long, you are aware that it's more than just new rock-n-roll music. The album is infused with blues and southern rock moments, but it is strung together by something else, the undeniable open road and southwestern hot air. It is the raw, wandering force throughout the Album.
Gary Gorence, Southwestern Rock-n-Roll, is the official website, http://garygorence.webs.com, and of course, there's the Blues Farm Records label website... all loaded with tidbits for fans, and devoted to music enthusiasts. The album boasts some of Santa Fe's classic rockers. Gary handled most of the guitar work himself, except for the tasty lead on It's Been So Long, by Mike Montiel. On the bottom, Steve Stoner performed on drums and Bobby Glenn on Bass, as well as backing vocals. Tracks were recorded at Oliver Music Studios in Santa Fe, NM.
The CD is issued by Blues Farm Records. http://bluesfarm.webs.com. The album is available, July 9, 2008.
Desert Trippin' is a journey of timeless travels, such as the steady moving opener, A Rebel With Good Intentions. The country bass line creates a slow, steady flow...maybe down the Pecos River. The grumbling bass lines that drive one through the New Mexico desert are again pushed on It's Been So Long. Beside the southwestern feel there is a river theme, both in lyric and musically, that makes sense when you see the album photos showing Gary wading out into the Pecos.
There are several songs just itching to reside on mp3 players, including Mirage, a song that showcases Gary's intuitive feel on slide guitar. It leaves the listener with images of red tinged cliffs blurring in the heat rising off the horizon. Feelin' Free delights with acoustic slide in pockets, and an acoustic strumming like a desert breeze in the early morning.
Gary Gorence fans will soak it up to hear the artist sing and play acoustic guitar on the simple and poignant All The Right Reasons.
The perfect debut for rock-n-roll music, the southwestern New Mexico sound, comes from the home of much great music. From Clovis, NM, Buddy Holly and Leann Rimes made their mark and great artists such as Waylon Jennings and others came to Clovis to make history. America has been waiting for this blend of south and southwest.

On Avenue A in Portales, the Do Drop In has begun offering acoustic shows out back in the patio area. There is no cover charge for the shows and they have great sandwiches, desserts and drinks.
Blues Farm Records' artist Sansietch, widely known for his improvisational rock music, also has several albums of acoustic music, including Acoustic River and Fields Of Glory. Both CDs are out of print as of this writing, but the indie label has told us some remixing and mastering, as well as some re-recording, will see both CDs available again by July 2008. Sansietch is scheduled to kick off the show, which begins at 7 p.m., and perform at least a full hour of his original music.
Mark Kelley has recently released his debut CD on Blues Farm Records. The CD is available on his website, http://markkelley.webs.com, as well as the label website, http://bluesfarm.webs.com. Whether that would happen around Clovis or Santa Fe is not yet clear.

With an extensive online precense, the best thing about Sansietch is he has a new website, loaded with tidbits for fans, and devoted to hard rock enthusiasts. You can sample most of the new songs.
This is one of the best things about independent artists. You can sample and download loads of info. There’s even a Street Team program at http://www.freewebs.com/staffiliatesinfo that pays fans for buying and selling CDs.
The latest CD is again issued by Sansietch’s own record label, Blues Farm. http://www.bluesfarm.webs.com. The album is available, July 28, 2007
There is no title track, but the title, and the play on the album cover, all become clear. This is the “letting loose” of a real guitarist. The unvailing of a rare breed of musician. It’s difficult to understand what must happen for an artist to instantly create. There’s a subconscious realm to many of Sansietch’s melodies. On Ricochet the ease with which the artist draws out melodies…don’t forget, Sansietch writes and plays each track on the song in one improvisational take.
Sansietch fans will rejoice once again to hear the artist lashing out on Playing My Hand, and the amazing wallowing on the bluesy Shape Of Sorrow. Since Sansietch, a name derived from both the French language, and a Science Fiction language, mean without a place of refuge in times of trouble, it does make one wonder if this outlaw musician has finally found his niche in rock n roll forever.
